Rehabilitation of cognitive difficulties can improve day to day functioning and enable people to make adaptations that enables them to compensate for areas of impairment. Adapting the home or work environment can facilitate return to work or study where possible and support through other life transitions, such as supporting people to live independently, or with appropriate support. This can improve the ability to do things independently for people who have experienced acquired brain injury or stroke, and can be provided as an independent therapy or as part of a therapy team.
